Join hundreds of community members for a fun-filled day of live music, entertainment, food, family fun, and advocacy for housing. Habitat Newburgh's 11th Annual Walk for Housing raises critical funds to help further our mission of eliminating poverty housing and restoring dignity to hard-working families through homeownership. Whether you walk with fellow congregants or social club members, students and teachers, co-workers, neighbors, family, or friends, this will surely be a meaningful experience for all, knowing you are helping to build houses, and build hope in our community.

Meet us in the Park! The 5K Walk will depart from historic Downing Park in Newburgh and passes several Habitat projects along the way.

DID YOU KNOW? There are over 1,800 families in Newburgh who qualify for a Habitat home. Each day, working families are faced with the deplorable conditions of poverty housing - overcrowding, structural decay, pest and rodent infestation, lead paint, asbestos, and the like. They must choose between paying rent or affording other life necessities such as food, clothing, or adequate healthcare or child care. But there is hope...
To date, Habitat Newburgh has built 38 houses that over 200 children and adults call home, and will complete another 5 houses by the date of this event. Habitat homes have returned more than $7.5 million to the City's assessed property values, and Habitat homeowners contribute over $126,000 to the tax base each year. Each completed project is not just a house; it is a safe, decent, and affordable home where families can thrive, breaking the cycle of poverty and giving their children hope for generations to come.
