After the overwhelming success of Newburgh's first Builders Blitz project in 2006, the Builders Association of the Hudson Valley have once again partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh for the Home Builders Blitz 2008. As part of this national effort, the BAHV will work with Habitat to build 2 houses in just 5 days in the City of Newburgh. During the week of June 2nd, Habitat affiliates and professional builders will partner across the country to build over 500 decent, affordable homes for and with families in need.
The support of the construction industry has been central to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh's success, and this event would not be possible without it. In 2006, over 70 companies and over 700 volunteers participated in the Blitz. To find out how you can help with this year's project, download the Project Overview.
We are currently seeking sponsors for this event, so if you are a construction professional, please consider being part of this monumental event. Your donation of just 1 day will help make a substantial, permanent impact on this community and the lives of our partner families. If you are not a construction professional, you can help out in other ways during the Blitz: volunteering, preparing or donating lunch, helping with signage or marketing, etc.
