After the overwhelming success of Newburgh's first Builders Blitz project in 2006, the Builders Association of the Hudson Valley partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh for the Home Builders Blitz 2008. As part of this national effort, the BAHV worked with Habitat to build 2 houses in just 5 days in the City of Newburgh. During the week of June 2nd, Habitat affiliates and professional builders partnered across the country to build over 500 decent, affordable homes for and with families in need.
The support of the construction industry had been central to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh's success, and this event would not have been possible without it. In 2006, over 70 companies and over 700 volunteers participated in the Blitz. To find out more about the 2008 project, download the Project Overview.
