This house was the first EpiscoBuild project. Habitat Newburgh received this property from the City of Newburgh in the spring of 2005. It had been abandoned. In the initial clean-up, workers were startled by what was left behind — from the child's bed and toys on the dirt floor in the basement to the refrigerator still filled with food. With the help of several dedicated volunteers, Habitat cleaned it out and began construction. Like all of Habitat's houses, this home is now filled with many wonderful memories — from the Hip Hop Mass kick-off to the festive house dedication on July 29, 2006.
