10 Catherine Street

Volunteers cleaned out debris at 10 Catherine in early summer, and plans for house are underway. In addition to the tires, clothing, construction waste, a few dead rodents, and general  trash  common to the buildings Habitat Newburgh acquires, 2 handguns were recovered at 10 Catherine Street, and immediately turned in to the City of Newburgh police, who were glad to have them off the street.

This property has recently undergone environmental testing for asbestos and lead, and will be assessed for structural integrity which will help make the final determination regarding rehabilitation or new construction on this site. It will be re-opened to volunteers shortly; watch Volunteer Hub for available volunteer days.
